Located within a 1,000-acre private nature reserve in Costa Rica is the premium lodge that is known as Lapa Rios. The accommodations here are in the form of 16 private bungalows that are spread throughout the property, all of which have great views of the jungle or the Pacific Ocean. This eco lodge has all the modern amenities that one would expect, but again, you come here for the location. The amount of wildlife and foliage found on this nature reserve is overwhelming and there are plenty of nature trails for you to explore.

9. Pole Pole – Mafia Island Marine Park, Tanzania
Considered by many to be one of the most remote nature lodge’s in the world, Pole Pole is an absolute gem. There are only six private villas here but each one is very luxurious. It’s located in the Mafia Island Marine Park which is a small island of Tanzania that is in the Indian Ocean. Given that fact, you get a unique blend of African jungle and a beach resort. The hotel is extremely environmentally friendly, and there’s a range of different activities where you can explore the local wildlife. “Pole Pole” is Swahili for “slowly, slowly” and this hotel is all about taking it easy.

Longitude 131° is a unique nature lodge located in the heart of the Australian Outback. Life out here is extremely difficult given the harsh climate and terrain, however Longitude 131° allows you to experience the Outback in relative levels of comfort and luxury. The dwellings here are “luxury” tents, which means they are just normal structures that have a cloth roof. They offer a restaurant and even a spa to ensure your stay is pleasurable, and all of the private dwellings are truly charming.

The forests of British Columbia are vast and sometimes even overwhelming. The Sonora Resort seems to just pop out of nowhere and it is arguably one of the nicest nature lodges around. It’s located on the Desolation Sound and the surrounding area is rich in wildlife. From relaxing by the waters edge to nature hikes where you can see wild bears, there’s a lot to do here. Recognized by National Geographic as one of the best “Unique Lodges of The World”, Mashpi Lodge is situated high up on the Andes, in the rainforests of Ecuador. The surrounding area is a 1,300-hectare nature preserve that is filled with exotic animals, rare plants, and untouched terrain. This luxury nature lodge is situated in the center of a national park, so it is surrounded by untouched landscape. 1. Adrere Amellal Oasis – Egypt
If you want to go to a nature lodge that is about as remote as it gets, then the Adrere Amelia Oasis in Egypt is a good choice. It’s actually considered an “eco outpost” because it is so remote. It’s about eight hours outside of Cairo and is located in the Saharan Desert. The entire dwelling is a traditional Berber-stlyed home that offers 34 rooms in total. It has a pool, a restaurant, and other amenities that make it comfortable. Still the most impressive thing about the Adrere Amellal is the location. Seeing miles after miles of sand dunes is quite overpowering and you will truly get a sense for just how vast the desert it.
