Starwood is Now Offering Points for Uber Rides

I can recall the first time I used Uber for a ride home. I was leaving New York City heading north via a train to Yonkers to stay at a friends house for the evening. We arrived at the train station at maybe 2:45am and waiting for us was a Uber driver; there was no delay at all. The car was brand new, the driver was friendly, we could listen to our Spotify playlists over the cars sound system, and it was a great experience all-around. It beat any cab experience that I’ve ever had. Now for those who prefer to stay at Starwood Hotels, you can now enjoy a variety of rewards for their hotels, as the two companies have recently came together in a partnership.

Loyalty members of Starwood Hotels (properties that include St. Regis, Westin, and Sheraton) can now earn Starpoints from every Uber ride that they take around the world. Starwood Preferred Guests, after you enroll for the program, can simply link their Uber account with Starwood and they will then qualify to ear Starpoints when the use Uber. It is a good deal for both companies, and many can benefit from this. For every dollar that one spends on an Uber ride, they will then earn one dollar of Starpoints that can be used for a variety of different things at the various Starwood properties around the world.

Early adopters of the program can earn up to 15,000 Starpoints when the book an Uber ride using the “SPG” option through the app. That is enough Starpoints for a free nights stay at a hotel. Starwood Hotels has already launched promotional parties for the partnership in various cities around the world including London, Dubai, New York City, Mexico City, and San Francisco. So if you are a Starwood Preferred Guest, you certainly have to take advantage of this great promotion.
