There are many benefits in staying at a premium resort or hotel when you’re seeking a luxurious vacation. These resorts have multiple restaurants, a spa, a few pools, are typically located on the beach, and are just packed with a list of great features. However most resorts, while having a host of offerings, have one big con: they lack privacy. Even if you spend an exorbitant amount of money on a 20-room boutique resort, you’re still going to be around people that you do not know. If you really want a luxurious vacation that’s truly private, then renting a home or villa is the way to go. Here at Worthly, we often take a look at various vacation rentals that are located throughout the world. This week we’ve found something pretty special: a massive residence located in the jungles of Costa Rica. Let’s take a step inside and see what it has to offer.
While most are perfectly content with going to places like Miami or San Diego, some want to visit a place more exotic. For this weeks luxury rental, we are going to the remote town of Santa Teresa in Costa Rica. The rental in question is called the Rancho Cielo and it is situated on 24-acres of land in the mountains that overlook the Hermosa beach. In terms of “remote”, Santa Teresa is pretty out there and Rancho Cielo is totally surrounded by the lush jungles of Costa Rica. It’s private, exotic, and removed, yet also extremely luxurious and beautiful. It has all the qualities you could want in a secluded vacation home. Getting here may be a little time consuming, as it’s located 4 to 5 hours from the nearest airports, however it is well worth the trip. Ranch Cielo is a place where you go to escape the world for just a little bit.
Right away the home certainly is very luxurious from the outside. Since it’s located on that beautiful plot of land that overlooks the ocean, you’ll want plenty of exterior living space. There a range of lounge chairs, outside tables, an expansive deck, and an incredible infinity pool. Rancho Cielo prides itself on being extremely environmentally friendly as well. The 24-acres of land that it sits on is home to protected forests that contain endangered pieces of trees and exotic plants. There’s a host of different fruit trees on the property that you can eat from. All soaps and cleaning products are chemical free and bio-degradable. The home has an advanced water treatment plant. Many appliances are powered by solar panels, and the home has been designed in a way to maximize natural lighting and airflow. The owners have gone to great lengths to keep the area beautiful and pristine, so you’ll definitely be spending a lot of your time outdoors.
Upon entering the home you will be greeted with modern living spaces that are comfortable and luxurious. Rancho Cielo has over 7,200-square-feet of interior living space so it’s quite capable of housing large groups and parties. We find many of the rooms having either large windows or sliding, floor-to-ceiling doors that allow interior and exterior spaces to blend together. The home has a fully-equipt kitchen, a large living room, a semi-interior dining room, and more.
In terms of accommodations, the Rancho Cielo has six bedrooms in total to offer guests. Rooms are spread out through the property and there’s plenty of space for the entire family here. Keeping up with the eco-conscious theme of the property, to conserve energy, the bedrooms are the only rooms that contain air conditioning. However Rancho Cielo has plenty of modern amenities like wireless internet and what not. Regardless, the rooms are certainly very comfortable and private.
As nice as the home is, the real appeal about this rental is that land that it sits on. There is a fully working farm on the property, and everyday you can have access to fresh fruit, eggs, honey, and more. The 24-acre property also has a few nature trails that you can explore. Additionally Ranch Cielo also comes with a staff to ensure that your stay is just absolutely relaxing. You’ll have access to a concierge service, a few housekeepers, and even a private chef. The property even has a long private driveway that leads to the beach that’s only a one-minute drive away.
Now depending on when you book your trip, rates for the entire property range between $2,100 and $2,850 dollars per night (excluding a 13% sales tax). While it’s expensive, we feel that it is worth it considering what this rental has to offer. This is the place that you visit when you need to take a break from your life and just want to escape. It’s beautiful, private, eco-friendly, and luxurious and the Rancho Cielo certainly does deliver.
