The nicest and most luxurious ski resorts in the world are not only in some of the most desirable ski locations, they also offer some of the nicest accommodations that money can buy. For skiers or snowboarders these resorts offer the complete package and you know that your time spent there will be unforgettable. So what are the most expensive ski resorts in the world? We are going to take a brief look at five of the most expensive ski resorts that are out there, and they are some of the nicest around.
5. Suvretta House Resort – St. Mortiz, Switzerland – $1,120 per night
Switzerland and skiing go hand-in-hand, and the Suvretta House ski resort in St. Mortiz is extremely premium and very expensive. The resort is located near some of the best ski slopes in the world and offers a range of luxury amenities. You also cannot beat how charming the hotel looks as it is styled like a chateau.
4. Almhof Schneider Resort – Lech-Arlberg, Austria – $1,185 per night
Next up we have the Almhof Schneider resort in Austria and it’s also very expensive as rooms start at around $1,100 per night. Aside from the skiing opportunities to be had, the resort has a large spa, premium restaurants, and all the other luxury amenities that one would expect to find at a place that costs this much.
3. Carlton Hotel – St. Mortiz, Switzerland – $1,256 per night
Another standout (and expensive) ski resort in St. Mortiz is the Carlton Hotel. It’s one of the most luxurious hotels in all of Switzerland on its own, and it also happens to be near some of the best slopes in the world. The resort itself is over 100 years old, however don’t be fooled as it is packed with modern amenities, clean rooms, and premium features. The resort also offers great views of the St. Mortiz Lake.
2. Aurelio Lech Ski Resort – Lech-Arlberg, Austria – $1,423 per night
The Aurelio Lech is a five-star ski resort located in the most desirable skiing location that Austria has to offer. The resort is extremely expensive to stay in, and much of that cost is due to how private and relatively small the resort is. You get all the amenities you’d expect but they are offered in a smaller and more intimate package; a real win-win.
1. Les Suites de la Pointiere – Courchevel, France – $1,958 per night
Depending on the rates, Les Suites de la Pointiere is one of the most expensive ski resorts and hotels in the world. It’s located right on a lake and near the mountains so the views here are unmatched. The resort is fairly modern as well so you can expect world-class treatment and amenities here. If you can afford to stay here, it is certainly money well spent.
