Five of the Most Luxurious Hotels and Resorts in All of Belize

The Best Hotels in Belize

Belize is a fairly small country located in Central America that is one of the more popular vacation destinations in the region. It borders Mexico and Guatemala to the north and east, but the western part of the country is located right on the Caribbean Sea. That means that there are some pretty incredible beaches and vacation towns here, and since the official language of Belize is actually English, many people flock here to enjoy the great weather and comfortable environment. So if you’re planning a trip to Belize, what are some of the nicest and most luxurious hotels that you could potentially stay in? Do you want to stay at a large resort or a smaller, boutique hotel? We are going to examine a quick list of five incredible hotels and resorts in Belize that are among some of the best in the entire country.

Matachica Beach Resort

The Matachica Beach Resort

TripAdvisor Score: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Located in the small town of San Pedro on the island of Ambergris Caye, is the luxurious and secluded property known as the Matachica Beach Resort. With views of the Caribbean Sea and the second largest barrier reef in the world, the Matachica Beach Resort is something quite special. The resort is comprised of a network of small, thatched-roof villas and bungalows that give the resort a very unique vibe. While many resorts in the area aim to be massive, luxurious structures, the Matachica Beach Resort is one of a more private nature. Given that the resort only offers just 31 private villas in total, this four-star property is about as boutique as it gets. Guests can enjoy the incredible beach, the spa, some great food from the Mambo Restaurant, workout at the fitness center, or engage in a variety of activities like kayaking or snorkeling. It may not be the largest resort ever with all of the features imaginable, but the Matachica Beach Resort is certainly quite charming. The combination of its old-world vibe with added modern amenities make this resort a great choice for those seeking an escape. Who doesn’t want a private villa located on the beach?

Belizean Cove Estates

The Belizean Cove Estates

TripAdvisor Score: 5 out of 5 stars

Luxurious and premium, yet also intimate and small, the Belizean Cove Estates is another great place to stay when traveling to Belize. Located right on the beach and the Caribbean Sea, the location of the property could not be any more ideal. However while the Belizean Cove Estates do offer some standard features like a large community pool, a tennis court, and other amenities seen at hotels and resorts, it’s not technically a “resort”. Rather, the Belizean Cove Estates is a collection of seven private villas that are designed with a great attention to detail. And I’m not talking about one room villas, we are talking about large homes. While they describe their accommodations as “villas”, we are talking about homes that have two or three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, and much more. So instead of booking a room that you normally would at other locations, here at Belizean Cove Estates you are essentially renting out a large vacation home.

Blancaneaux Lodge

The Blancaneaux Lodge

TripAdvisor Score: 4.5 our of 5 stars

While luxury hotels and resorts on the beach are always great, sometimes travelers want something a bit more remote. Back in the 1980’s, Francis Ford Coppola came to Belize and immediately grew found of the country, so much so, that her purchased the abandoned Blancaneaux Lodge. He then used it as a personal retreat for family and friends, but then opened it up to the public in 1993. Located in the forests of the Maya Mountains, the Blancaneaux Lodge is a great place to experience the essence of the Belizean nature. You’re surrounded by the lush jungle, and will feel totally removed from the world. The hotel offers just 20 rooms in total, which are in the form of luxurious and stylish cabins and villas. The property offers a few pools, two restaurants, a bar, a spa, and more. You also have access to the incredible nature that makes up the surrounding area. From taking hikes and riding horses to exploring the local waterfalls and caves, you truly are able to experience nature in one of its most undisturbed forms. The Blancaneaux Lodge is luxurious, remote, and an absolute treat for adventurous travelers.

Situated on the beach in the small coastal village of Hopkins, Belize, is the luxurious and intimate hotel known as Belizean Dreams. This all-inclusive, four-star property has everything you could possibly want in a boutique hotel located on the beach. Accommodations here are in the form of one to three bedroom villas, all of which have views of the ocean. Since Belizean Dreams is all-inclusive, guests have the choice to select from a variety of different packages. Some of the more premium packages include tours of local Mayan ruins, scuba diving excursions, and more. They have a few pools, a bar, an attentive staff, a spa, and all the other treats that would accompany a hotel of this nature. There are also only just 27 rooms in total here, so it is very exclusive as well.

Las Terrazas Resort

Las Terrazas Resort

TripAdvisor Score: 4.5 out of 5 stars

If you’re looking to go all-out and stay in one of the nicest hotels in all of Belize, then consider the Las Terrazas Resort. The five-star property is also located on the secluded and beautiful island of Ambergris Caye, and it’s the perfect place to make your island dreams come true.
