Virgin Hotels Chicago

Sir Richard Branson is a well known English businessman and entrepreneur who is head of the Virgin Group, a multinational branded venture capital conglomerate that consists of more than 400 business worldwide. Well, Branson has just added one more business to that list as the first Virgin Hotel has finally opened up in Chicago and it looks pretty cool.

The Virgin Hotel Chicago is being positioned as a slick, modern, and social hotel. The hotel is specifically targeting young and creative travelers and business people, as evident by their interior design. They want to position this hotel as “cool”, and from what we’ve seen so far, it definitely is.

The hotel rooms are elegantly modern and comfortable, and make good use of their space. The rooms take design elements seen in many Japanese apartment buildings. That is, one room has a variety of different uses and can “transform”. The rooms combine a hallway, closet, dressing room, bathroom, and bedroom all in one. The rooms have various sliding doors that open and close, transforming the room completely. So you can go from a bedroom to a workspace just by sliding the dividers.

The hotel will also aim to eliminate many extra charges that other hotels tack on guests bills. Wi-Fi, room service transportation, and business center transactions have been provided for free. There will also be extremely flexible check-in and check-out times as well. The hotel will also offer a variety of luxury amenities like a spa, a fitness center, a few restaurants, and a premium lounge.

The “Commons Club” will be at the center of all the action, and it is a hip bar/lounge/restaurant combination that makes a great place to socialize or relax. The hotel is located in the “Loop” of Chicago, and is centrally located near many attractions. The hotel offers 250 rooms and suites, and the rooms start at around $250 dollars per night. The hotel also offers many packages to make your stay more comfortable. Head over to their website to find out more.
