Check Out This 57-storey tower in China being built in just 19 days

China Daily Life - Construction

China is a fascinating city in how they have been developing at such a rapid pace over the past decade. With such a booming economy, China has been able to push their city to the next level of development and even surpass other major countries like the United States in the amount of skyscrapers they have. China has no plans of slowing down, and is even discovering new ways to quickly create buildings in their cities. A company is currently building a 57 story building and it will be completed in only 19 days.

The company is building this new skyscraper in Changsha, China and the entire project is being called Mini Sky City. It will offer 800 new homes to Chinese residents as well as 4,000 new work space offices for companies. 1,200 workers were used to build the Mini Sky City and the building is supposed to be extremely sustainable. Although China is industrializing a ton, their environment is suffering majorly and the country is dealing with tons of smog and other toxic pollution that is only getting worse.

It’s very unusual to see a building be constructed in this quickly of a process, but that doesn’t mean it’s not safe. The parts were pre-fabricated, which is how they were able to put it together in only 19 days, but the company still claims that it is very earthquake resistant and actually safer than other buildings.

Only time will tell if this new method to creating buildings is viable and as safe as it is made out to be, but it’s definitely amazing to see the world progressing. With technology such as 3D printers coming out, it is revealing longer processes can be cut short like construction because the parts can be produced easier. Here’s a video that shows a complete time lapse of the project.
