The Most Expensive Apps in the App Store

With nearly everyone having some sort of smartphone these days, the one most common seen on the streets is, of course, Apple’s iPhone. And while people always gripe about bad service, slow runtime and for selling out to the crack-like addiction of Apple products, they still find themselves shelling out money for the best experience they can have on their phones. That’s right, thanks to apps, people are constantly on their devices either playing games, watching videos or doing some other crazy thing to pass their time. But what are the most expensive ones in the App Store?

1. SafeSession Voice Encryption – $299

To save yourself from hackers busting into your call, this app uses voice encryption algorithms to securely protect against the theft. Sounds good—except when you learn that the person you’re talking to also has to drop $300 for the thing to work.

2. Mobile Cam Viewer – $349.99

Mobile Cam Viewer is an app that lets users manage all of their surveillance and security cameras with a simple touch on their mobile device. Sounds pretty cool, but for someone to have it on their phone sounds more of a paranoid thing than a necessity.

3. Barcelona vs Madrid – $349.99

The app featuring one of the biggest rivalries in European soccer, the Barcelona vs Madrid app has gotten poor reviews from anyone who has bought it, claiming it to be pointless. The developers insist the gameplay and graphics are state-of-the-art, but it sounds like users don’t agree.

4. Preebs – $999.99

With the hope of making the commute to work more enjoyable, the Preebs app promises to offer coupons and games for people on their way to work, even having the capability to customize the billboards they pass. A few things, though. One, shouldn’t commuters be paying attention to the road? Two, how do billboards customize just for users? And three, why is it worth a thousand bucks?

5. VIP Black – $999.99

Everyone wants to act like a millionaire, so the VIP Black app gives anyone willing to spend $1,000 on it to do just that—well, those who prove they are of “high net worth” with assets and income in excess of $1 million. Sounds fancy. Users do receive full VIP treatment at all partner venues worldwide, with a concierge to assist their every need right at their fingertips, so that’s something to be excited about for the investment.
