New York Restaurant’s Dessert Still One of the World’s Most Expensive Sundaes

Milk Prices Continue To Rise In California

It costs a lot of money to dine out in New York City. The Big Apple is home to some of the finest restaurants in the world, but to eat there it’s going to cost you an arm and a leg… and maybe more. What about if you just want dessert?

About seven years ago, NYC released the $1,000 bagel. Yup, you read correctly – a bagel that costs $1,000. Just a few short days after that things got taken to a whole new level. Stephen Bruce, the owner of Serendipity 3, partnered with luxury jeweler Euphoria New York to create the “Frrozen Haute Chocolate” a blend of 28 cocoas, including 14 of the most expensive and exotic from around the world.

Here’s the kicker – the dessert is infused with 5 grams of edible 23-carat gold and served in a goblet lined with edible gold as well. At the base of the goblet is an 18-karat gold bracelet with 1 carat of white diamonds. The sundae is also topped with whipped cream covered in more edible gold and a side of La Madeline au Truffle from Knipschildt Chocolatier, which sells for $2,600 a pound. And just in case you were worried you’d have to eat it with a plastic spoon don’t worry, it comes with a spoon decorated with a white and chocolate diamonds you can also take home.

The pricy ice cream sundae is only available in advanced orders. Technically, once could argue that it is actually not a $25,000 with all the jewelry you can take home, but still it’s one of the world’s most expensive sundaes. What’s the story with edible gold? That doesn’t sound appetizing at all does it?
