New York Restaurant Creates $100 Donut Made With 24-Karat Gold

$100 Donut Manila Social Club

The donut is probably one of the cheapest breakfast options out there, and it is by no means a “luxurious” breakfast food either. But what about a donut that was made with real gold? As it turns out a restaurant in New York City, called the Manila Social Club, has created what is probably the most luxurious donut in the entire world. It will run you $100 dollars and it is made with real, 24-karat gold.

Located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the Manila Social Club is a fine dining restaurant that serves a unique blend of Filipino and French cuisine. So naturally they like to push the envelope a bit when it comes to food. Additionally they also come up with some crazy donut concoctions, like the “Golden Cristal Ube Donut”. The donut is made with icing that has Cristal champagne as an ingredient, ube mousse, champagne jelly, and it is topped with real 24-karat gold. Sounds interesting, right?

You’ll have to drop $100 dollars or $1,200 for a dozen for this donut and then order it ahead of time so that they can make it in advance, as most restaurants typically don’t produce mass quantities of donuts made with real gold. So is this the most luxurious and most expensive donut in the world? Probably.
