Luxury French Chocolate Maker Valrhona Opens a School in Brooklyn

Valrhona School Brooklyn

Aspiring pastry chefs and confectioners in the United States, specifically New York, can rejoice in unison as the legendary French chocolate company known as Valrhona has recently opened up a school and base of operations in Brooklyn. It’s called L’École Valrhona Brooklyn and it is located right in Downtown Brooklyn at 222 Water Street.

The brand has been seeking to open a location in the United States for some time now, and after much anticipation, they finally have. The opening started off with a customary ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a two-day conference that was attended by a host of different chefs, confectioners, and pastry chefs. A few classes have already started at the school, and general classes will be offered to consumers very soon. The classes focus of subjects like chocolates, macaroons, petits fours, French yule logs, and all other things associated with delectables.

Valrhona was first founded in 1922 by prominent French pastry chef Albéric Guironnet and it has now expanded into a large and diverse brand, well-known for their luxury chocolates and confectioneries. This new school in Brooklyn certainly is quite the treat, and it will be a great place for individuals to learn more about pastries, chocolates, and confectioneries. Over the years pastries and confectioneries have become somewhat of a lost art in the United States, as the Europeans have dominated the scene for some time. With this new school, many people hope that it will encourage Americans to pick up this lost art and it seems like a great start.
