Japan Unveils $16 Per Finger Golden Covered Kit Kat Bars

Gold Kit Kat Bars

Taking inspiration from the iconic 1971 Willy Wonk & The Chocolate Factory film, Nestlé is releasing a few very special chocolate bars in Japan. They are just your standard Kit Kat bars…minus the fact that they are wrapped entirely in real gold.

According to Nestlé Japan, they will start producing these limited-edition chocolate bars which will be available only inside Japan. They will be producing just 500 bars in total of the “Sublime Gold” Kit Kat bars, so if you are a chocolate lover living in Japan, you better act fast.

The bars will be sold individual and will retail for $16 dollars a piece. While that is a lot more than Kit Kat bars typically cost, it’s a pretty fair price considering the bars are wrapped entirely in 100% gold leaf. The real question is whether or not you would actually unwrap and eat the chocolate or keep it as a collectible.

Nestlé Japan is actually known for their pretty interesting creations, as they say the Japanese market is quite unique when it comes to tastes. In Japan they currently sell around 30 different flavors of the Kit Kat bar, some of which include sweet potato and cheese cake flavor, so the gold Kit Kat bar is actually not the craziest thing that they have ever done.
