Chivas Regal’s $3,500 “The Icon” Features a Blend Of Over 20 Rare Whiskies

Chivas Regal The Icon

Chivas Regal is one of the leading names in the world of blended Scotch whisky, and while they offer a range of superb whiskies, “The Icon” is one that’s quite noteworthy. This complex blend features over 20 different whiskies from a range of distilleries around Scotland, some of which are no longer producing Scotch. This concoction of rare whiskies makes this blended Scotch something quite special.

Chivas Regal certainly knows a thing or two about blending Scotch together, and The Icon is one of their finer examples of their work. Colin Scott, master blender for Chivas, worked tirelessly to seek out the range of different whiskies that make up The Icon, all of which are extremly rare. There is whiskey from Strathisla which is one of the oldest distilleries in the Scottish Highlands in addition to whiskies from Longhorn and Glen Keith, among many others.

The Scotch is bottled in a green glass decanter that was produced by hand by the skilled craftsmen at Dartington Crystal, and it’s really just the icing on the cake. The Icon possesses a rich, complex, and unique taste that is only found in these types of high-end blended whiskies. It has a nose of pears, dark chocolate, and honey while the palate is a mix of citrus fruits, peaches, vanilla, and hazelnut.

Only a small number of The Icon bottles are released each year from Chivas, as again, the whiskies found inside are extremely rare. Additionally since some of the whiskies used in the blend are from now defunct distilleries, there will be a finite amount of this blended Scotch in the future, which is why this prized Scotch will run you $3,500 dollars per bottle. So, anyone want to pick us up a bottle?
