Burberry

The House of Burberry has one of the most recognizable patterns in the fashion industry: the famous Burberry plaid. It adorns anything and everything from pet fashion to baby fashion to clothing for young adults and the every popular and infamous trench coat. What are the most popular items and how much money will you have to part with in order to own a piece of this iconic clothing line? We are going to look at some Burberry classics.

The Trench Coat

Burberry Trench Coat

This has been a fashion staple and has changed very little over the many years it has been around. Humphrey Bogart wore one with style in “Casablanca” and Audrey Hepburn turned the men’s trench coat into a woman’s fashion when she sported it in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. While the classic coat is approximately $1,000, there are special order and unique trench coats.  Currently, Burberry has created a trench coat made entirely of peacock feathers which sells for over $40,000.

The Woman’s Handbag

These bags are so popular and sought after that many women have taken to collecting them the way others may collect antiques or art. The materials range from silky satin and silk, to leathers, to exotic fibers done up in the most exquisite styles of different shapes and sizes. Cost can vary greatly depending on size, style and uniqueness but the handbag lines run from $3,000 – $20,000.

The Wellington Boot

Marrying British fashion with a staple in most British homes, the Wellington boot emblazoned with the classic Burberry plaid is an extremely hot item in their line. It’s no surprise why this line of rain boots took off given how often in rains in England. With the perfect combination of style and practicality, these boots can range in price from $3,000 – $15,000 depending on the materials used and this one item alone accounts for over $500,000 in sales each year.

The Children’s Line

Burberry Children

Few high-end luxury brands offer clothing for children, but Burberry is well known to have an extensive children’s line for boys and girls. While most fashionable people often purchase similar items for their children, Burberry’s children’s line took off dramatically with the endorsement of David and Victoria Beckham’s children. Suri Cruise, of the Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes fame, also did quite a bit to promote the exclusivity of the brand and with items for children costing upwards of $2,000 – items that they will quickly outgrow, you need to have a decent net worth to purchase these things for your little ones.
