The Top Five Most Expensive German Luxury Cars

Australian International Motor Show

Regardless of whatever car you drive around in, everyone fantasizes about that one “dream car” they would immediately buy if were it in their budget.  Germany is known for its top of the line automobiles and the ability to churn out a bunch of the nicest cars each year that can end up costing more than the price of a house. However, some people are fortunate enough to have the budget to buy one of these luxury speed demons while the rest of us are left to sit back and gawk.

Let’s check out the five most expensive German luxury cars…

5. Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG Coupe – $215,500

Although this Benz seats four, don’t let that fool you; the CL65 AMG Coupe has a surprisingly huge twin-turbocharged V12 engine under its hood and has more torque than certain Lamborghini, Ferrari and McLaren cars. Not a bad option for speedsters with a family.

4. Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series – 275,000

Packing a plentiful 622 horsepower with a 6.2 liter V-8 engine, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG black series comes with more than just a super sleek design that would make anyone look like James Bond when stepping out of it. Even when you thought this coupe couldn’t look any cooler, it has the option to come with gull-wing doors.

3. Porsche 918 Spyder – $845,000

This beautiful Porsche can travel a quarter mile in 10.2 seconds at top speed while also hitting 185 miles per hour in 23 seconds…and did I forget to mention, it’s a hybrid? That’s right, although drivers can’t zip go too fast in electric mode, Porsche is looking to the future with their second plug-in hybrid car (the other hybrid being the 2014 Panamera S E-Hybrid).

2. Maybach Landaulet – $1.4 Million

Although this Maybach houses a V-12 engine with 620 horsepower, the Landaulet shines with its fully reclining rear seats and a fully retractable rear roof for ultimate comfort during those relaxing drives on a sunny day in the countryside.

1. Maybach Exelero – $8 million

Coming in at number one is the absurdly expensive Maybach Exelero. This smooth beast was made back in 2005 and is one of a kind. That’s right there is only one of these in existence and still takes the cake for being the most expensive Maybach out there. The vehicle packs 700 horsepower with a twin-turbo V-12 engine and reaches a max speed of 218 miles per hour. With a design based on sports cars from the 1930’s, this is a coupe that I could see Bruce Wayne buying to use as a suitable Batmobile.
