The Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4 Will Be a Limited Edition Vehicle to Celebrate Founder’s 100th Birthday

Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4

When we typically see one-offs or limited edition vehicles from Lamborghini, they are usually quite impressive. Well the beloved Italian brand has some special plans to celebrate the late Ferruccio Lamborghini’s 100th birthday: a special limited edition supercar. It is believed that it will likely be called the Centenario LP 770-4 and it could be one of the most impressive Lamborghinis to-date.

Since Ferrucio Lamborghini was the man that started it all, we naturally expect the Centenario to be truly exceptional. While not much is known about this car just yet, we can certainly make some guesses as to what it will entail. Like many other Lamborghinis the “770” will likely represent that the vehicle has 770 metric horsepower, which is about 759 horsepower. The “4” also most likely means that the Centenario will have a four-wheel drive platform. If those details prove to be true, we could expect a car that can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 3 seconds and one that could reach speeds of over 215 mph, at least.

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has also confirmed a few more details about the limited edition Centenario. First, it will have a completely new and unique body and will not be based off the Huracán or Aventador. Second, the brand will only be producing just 20 examples in total. Finally, the car will officially be unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show (where else?).

So we will have to probably wait until the Geneva Motor Show to see what the Centenario 770-4 will look like, but I wouldn’t worry about its design as Lamborghini typically makes some insane vehicles. There’s no word on price as well, however since it’s not only a limited edition Lamborghini but also one created to celebrate the founder’s 100th birthday, it’s safe to assume this car will be a few million dollars. Since it’s also going to be a collector’s car it will only increase in value over the years as well. So who’s ready for this limited edition Lamborghini? I know I cannot contain my excitment.
