The First 2017 Acura NSX Has Been Sold For $1.2 Million

Acura’s upcoming NSX is one of the most anticipated supercars that will be released this year, and the first one off the production line has officially been sold for an incredible $1.2 million dollars. The new 2017 Acura NSX will be the companies first supercar in a number of years, as production of the first generation model was ended back in 2005.

The Acura NSX in question is the very first one that the company has made, and it was put up for sale at a Barrett-Jackson auction. It should go without saying just how valuable first-edition model cars are, which is why it wasn’t a shocker that it sold for so much. The lucky buyer was Rick Hendrick, the man who founded Hendrick Motorsports and is the owner of the American NASCAR Team. The final sale price of $1.2 million dollars is quite high, considering the car will retail for $156,000 when it finally comes out, however all proceeds from the auction were donated to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

The 2017 Acura NSX will be yet another promising supercar to look forward to. The vehicle will features a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine and three electric motors that will propel this car at insane speeds. It can reach speeds of 191 mph and it should be able to travel from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds flat. This vehicle offers most features seen in high-end supercars, yet compared to the Ferraris and Lamborghinis of the world, it is a much more affordable option. While $1.2 million is definitely too much money for this car (in my opinion), it’s an impressive vehicle at $156,000 for sure.
