Rolls-Royce To Cease Production Of The Current Generation Phantom

Rolls-Royce To Cease Production Of The Current Generation Phantom

Well it really does seem like all good things must come to an end, as Rolls-Royce will officially be retiring their beloved Phantom series. In a recent press release the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes, has “announced that the current Phantom will enter the last stages of its celebrated production in 2016”.

The current seventh generation Phantom has been in production for around 13 years now, and it has long served as the brands flagship vehicle. The Phantom has always been Rolls-Royce’s most popular vehicle, and we will certainly miss this beloved and iconic luxury vehicle. Additionally the Phantom Coupé and the Phantom Dropped Coupé will also be phased out during this year. However this isn’t all bad news, as Rolls-Royce is looking towards the future with some brand new vehicles.

In place of the current Phantom, Rolls-Royce is now testing their all-new aluminum architecture vehicles, which will be the future of every Rolls-Royce automobile. These new vehicles that will feature this new aluminum design will be ready for purchase sometime in early parts of 2018.

Rolls-Royce will begin production of the last Phantoms during this November, and they will be part of a very special and limited-edition release called the “Phantom Zenith Collection”, which will celebrate the end of an era. While we hate to see the Phantom go, we are excited to see what these special Phantoms will offer in addition to the upcoming all-aluminum architecture cars.
