People that enjoy driving always dream of owning a fast performance car one day, but only a select few can. Besides, performance cars are impractical, 2-seaters that have no trunk space right? Well as it turns out, that might not be the case. Audi has recently just introduced another version of their flagship automobile, the A8. They’re calling it the S8 Plus and it has all the features we love about the S8, but they’re packed into a much more powerful vehicle. The S8 is the performance version of the A8. The S8 Plus is kind of like the performance version of the performance version.
The S8 is an attractive vehicle for those seeking a high-end car, that has a little bit of everything. They look good, they are very practical, they perform decently well, and are filled with various luxury features an amenities. This new S8 Plus has all of that, but Audi has increase the engine output by a considerable amount.
Audi has worked their magic on the 4.0-liter V8 engine seen in the regular S8. They have increased the engines horsepower by 85, brining it from 520 hp to now 605 hp. That is a significant and substantial performance boost, one that you can definitely notice. 0 to 62 mph is now achieved in under 3.8 seconds and the vehicle can achieve speeds of 189 mph. Compared to other vehicles, there aren’t many cars that can transport an entire family yet still manage to offer these incredible levels of performance. Throw in Audi’s Quattro four-wheel drive system, carbon-fibre reinforced ceramic breaks, an adaptive air suspension, and an eight-speed transmission, and well, you’ve got quite the car on your hands.
The interior isn’t too bad either, and is actually very civilized. Its engine easily distracts you from the fact that this is a four-door sedan that offers a roomy interior and plenty of luxury features. You know, things like adaptive cruise control, an entertainment system, carbon fiber parts, 21-inch alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlights, a 14-speaker Bose surround sound system, a rear-view camera, 22-way adjustable leather seats, two entertainment screens in the back, power activated doors, and much more. The list just goes on and on.
The time that most people can actually afford a high-end performance car is often when they are married and have children. Purchasing something like a Porsche doesn’t really align with your current lifestyle, so before, you’d have to make many compromises when it came to bring a toy..er.. I mean car. That’s not the case with the S8 Plus. It’s first and foremost a performance vehicle, and a very respectable one at that. But more importantly, it also happens to have room for the entire family and all the features to ensure everyone is comfortable for a long car ride. The S8 Plus will be available sometime in October, and we haven’t heard any word on the price just yet. But it will be more expensive than the S8 which starts at $114,900. While the new S8 Plus will be a very expensive car, for many drivers out there, it’s a vehicle that offers the complete package and it seems like it’s almost too good to be true. It’s hard to dislike this car.
