Bentley made ripples in the automotive community with the Black Edition Continental, and it’s still on a roll with the new Bentley GT Model. The famed automaker has done it again with the promise of the future release of its latest supercar that offers a sleek exterior and lightning capacity for speed. The company is as famous for teasing its adoring public as it is for producing some of the finest high luxury vehicles on the planet. We were able to unearth some of the amazing details via the teaser clip that Bentley has released. Here is a closer look at the new Bentley GT with all of the information that we could gather.

Comparisons with the GT3-R

Based on what we know, the Continental GT3-R has set the bar at an incredibly high level for sportiness, speed and aesthetics. It favored the aerodynamics in lieu of luxury back seats for a faster sleeker body. It was finely tuned and redesigned for lightweight performance. The entire production lot of three hundred was sold out in a few weeks’ time. It sported a V8 motor that brought the speed up from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour in four seconds. The reason for bringing up the predecessor is because there is speculation that the new GT may have some serious similarities.

We’re looking for the carbon fiber materials to give it a more light weight body and possible the elimination of some luxury features that would further enhance the lightness of the car. There are also rumors that the new Bentley GT will feature a V8 engine over the twelve cylinder. We’re not expecting to see a loss of speed or power thanks to the innovations of the automotive design team. The coupe is expected to deliver a good run from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour in a scant three seconds (although some guesses pin this closer to 4.5 seconds) with a maximum speed of two hundred and five miles per hour or better.

More detailed expectations

The 4.0 twin turbo engine should deliver five hundred and twenty bhp and five hundred and two pound feet of torque directed to the four wheel vehicle controlled with the eight speed automatic tranny. We’re also expecting the choice of a convertible or soft top.

Aesthetics

We’re definitely going to see a difference from the standard GT with redesign in the headlamps and tail lights sporting darker tinting. Also expect changes to the appearance of the windows and front air duct trim. It won’t have the polished metal finish, but instead will feature a gloss black shine. The aerodynamics will be enhanced with teh body kit package that will be available in four different accent colors including; Cyber Yellow; Halllmark; St James’ Red or Beluga.

Mulliner interior design will be featured with some impressive stitching in the headliner that matches the color of the body kit. We’re also looking for elements of stone, carbon fiber and luxury exuding veneers on the interior of the car.

Pricing

The new Black Edition of the Continental GT V8S is expected to present in the neighborhood of two hundred and ten thousand dollars. As usual, we’ve not received any confirmation from Bentley about the precise price, but it’s an educated guess based on track history and current trends so it will most likely bbe close to this figure.

Final thoughts

The world is awaiting the formal release of the new Bentley Continental GT so we can confirm our suspicions. Who knows, there may even be a few pleasant surprises on tap for us. This is one of the things that we both love and despise about the Bentley automakers. We don’t doubt that they will reveal an impressive and much sought after edition, but it is the waiting that heightens the anticipation and causes a raft of speculation. Although we hate the wait, in some respects, we look forward to this stage in the development of a new luxury car because it gives us something to look forward to. Bentley has been on its’ game and is rolling them off of the production line at a fairly rapid pace for which action they will receive no complaints. Soon, we’ll have the full picture of the new Bentley.
