Lamborghini Officially Unveils The Centenario At The Geneva Motor Show

Lamborghini Centenario

Lamborghini has officially unveiled the Centenario LP 770-4 at the Geneva Motor Show, and it’s as impressive as we’d expect. Lamborghini created the vehicle to celebrate the 100th birthday of their founder, Ferruccio Lamborghini, and it’s definitely a vehicle that would make him proud as it represents virtually everything the Italian brand stands for.

A true Lamborghini is a vehicle that is extreme and aggressive in virtually all aspects, and the Centenario is certainly just that. The design of the car is something only Lamborghini could create, and it’s extremely futuristic. The vehicle starts out with a carbon fiber monocoque and aluminum frames that serve as the base, while the rest of the body is made from carbon fiber, meaning that it is fairly lightweight. On the back is a hydraulic rear wing that automatically adjusts itself according to the driving conditions. The Centenario also has plenty of active aerodynamics that help increase the cars downforce, and it certainly needs it given it’s large  and powerful engine.

The Centenario is packing a naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 that delivers some 770 horsepower in total. While other manufacturers fool around with turbochargers and hybrid drive systems, Lamborghini has chosen to go for more of a traditional engine, and that’s totally fine. That powerful engine allows the Centenario to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.8 seconds. It can also hit 186 mph from rest in just 23.5 seconds. It also boasts a top speed of some 217 mph, but you’ll probably never drive it that fast, realistically speaking. The car offers four-wheel-drive and a seven speed gearbox as well so it’s quite grippy on the track as well.

As incredible as  the Centenario is, you cannot buy one new unfortunately. Lamborghini will only be producing just 40 examples in total, 20 coupés and 20 roadsters, and every single model has already been sold. But even if you could buy one, the car starts at $1.9 million dollars. However all things considered, they could have probably charged a lot more for this very special Lamborghini. While we’ll probably never see on of these beauties in the wild, the Lamborghini Cenenario is easily the most impressive Lamborghini currently out there. We will keep you updated with all the impressive cars from the Geneva Motor Show, as the event has only just begun.
