BMW is a company known for their top of the line cars and all of the features they have included, even if you don’t know about them. Whether it be cars, technology, or any devices, there is sure enough that one feature you stumble into and it seems drastically life changing. These little tips and tricks can go miles for customers and BMW recognizes that.
Here are five things you didn’t know about the BMW X5
5. Open all windows with the car key
This has started to come standard on a lot of cars, yet I still have never owned a vehicle that supported this feature. If you just continue to hold down the unlock button on your electronic key, it will eventually open up all windows and the moonroof.
4. Safety Windows!
Back when I was a child I tended to always be hanging out of the car window in some way. Not to the point where I was ever in danger, but my mom definitely shocked me here and there by putting the windows up. It turns out the X5 has some nice safety windows full with sensors. If any hands or feet are obstructing the window’s path, it will stop and go back down until all body parts are back in the car.
3. Panic Mode
While it is always clear that the panic button on your electronic car key will set off the car alarm, the BMW X5 adds a little bonus onto this feature that seems like it could be very useful in certain situations. If user’s hold down the panic button for 3-5 seconds, not only will the alarm go off, but this feature will actually open up the trunk of the car in case there was ever a need for emergency exit.
2. Turn off all interior lights at once
BMW seems to just continue to add little things if you hold down buttons. Rather than having to click off all of the interior lights one by one, if car owner’s press and hold down their center interior light button on the console for about three seconds, it will turn off all of the lights in the car. This is definitely nice for those with kids who have the lights on but burst out of the car without turning them back off.
1. Close all of the windows from the car’s exterior
This function only works if you have comfort access; however, by holding your finger on the door handle’s touch sensor, it will automatically roll up any windows that have been left fully down or even slightly cracked. There are many times where I have been in such a rush that I don’t fully get the windows pulled up or forget I had one down. BMW makes a simple fix to this that is super convenient.
