
Volvo Car Corporation, also known as Volvo Personvagner A.B., is a Swedish premium automaker headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden and owned by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group of China. The company was founded in 1927 as a subsidiary company to the ball bearing manufacturer SKF, and when Volvo was introduced on the Swedish stock exchange, SKF sold the majority of the shares. Volvo Car Corporation was owned by the larger multinational vehicle manufacturer Volvo AB until 1999 when it was sold to Ford Motor Company as a new part of Ford’s Premier Automotive Group, along with Jaguar, Aston Martin, and Land Rover. For a midsize luxury sedan, the S80 T6 gets outstanding gas milage at 38 miles per gallon on the highway. The Platinum package includes rear and front park assist, accent lighting, a Volvo Premium Sound System, a DVD player and 7-inch color screen, and navigation with real-time traffic.

The most expensive Volvo midsize luxury SUV/crossover on this list, the 2015 Volvo XC60 comes complete with a 2.0-liter inline-4 engine that gets up to 240 horsepower and 258 pounds of torque while also having an impressive fuel economy advantage over other luxury SUVs with an average gas milage of 27 mpg. The Platinum package includes a panoramic roof, Sensus navigation, Collision Warning with full auto brake, Driver Alert Control, and Lane Departure Warning.
1. 2015 Volvo S60/V60 Polestar – $60,900
Volvo’s most expensive model, the 2015 Volvo V60 Polestar Wagon, is a limited edition driver’s car produced in collaboration with Swedish racing partner Polestar. The S60 midsize luxury sedan and the V60 wagon include stiffer bushings, braces, and mounts that help sharpen the vehicles’ reflexes. With a power boost of 345 horsepower, the Polestar models also include 20-inch wheels, blue stitching on leather upholstery, and carbon fiber trim. Only 120 Polestar models were shipped to the U.S.
