Cadillac Debuts the CTS-V in Detroit

Cadillac CTS V 2016

Many awesome cars where either unveiled or teased at the recent 2015 Detroit Auto Show, and Cadillac is following suite and debuted their awesome CTS-V. Cadillac has had a rich history in the past, but many people have left the brand in favor of European cars. Well, the all-new 2016 CTS-V is a reason to come back to Cadillac as it is one of the coolest cars the company has released in a long time, maybe ever. With this new vehicle, Cadillac looks to take on BMW, Mercedes, and Audi as the leading luxury automobile manufacturer.

So why does this car matter? From the outside it looks very similar to many other previous Cadillac models, with some slightly more aggressive looking features. It’s not a sports car as it is a four door sedan, but looks can be deceiving. Cadillac is calling their new CTS-V a “super-sedan”, and that is exactly what this car is.

The vehicle packs a 6.2 liter supercharged V8 engine that packs 640 horsepower. It has more power than a BMW M5, a Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, and even a Lamborghini Huracan (it has 602hp). The car can accelerate from 0-60 in just 3.7 seconds which is faster than a $300,000 dollar 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish, and that car has a V12 engine! The CTS-V has a top speed of 200mph, track-ready disc brakes, magnetic ride control, and a new 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. All of that in a car that will probably cost around $60,000-$70,000 dollars.

This is an important car for Cadillac, probably the most important car that they have ever launched. This vehicle shows that they can make a luxury sedan performing like a sports car, and even some supercars. This is the most powerful and the fastest car that Cadillac has ever built, and it is the most worth contender to take on the luxury German cars that we have ever seen.
