BMW has been really making a splash in the market with their new plug in hybrid sports cars. The BMW i8 model has been getting tons of attention because of it’s very futuristic look while also keeping the traditional sporty feel that the company is known to offer. These new hybrid cars aren’t just for show though, and BMW is really making an impact in the market, so much that the i8 model has recently been announced that it’s the UK car of the year for 2015.
The UK Car of the Year award is decided by a panel of 27 different motor journalists who know their stuff and carefully rank the newest vehicles to hit the market each year while ultimately deciding which is the best. There are twelve different categories that provide insight on which vehicle models are the best in their categories but the BMW i8 won the overall title as the official car of the year.
This is the second year in a row that BMW has taken the overall title with one of their hybrid models. Last year, the company’s i3 also won the top award as Car of the Year for it’s impressive transition into the hybrid market. This year’s i8 has been a model that many people have been awaiting for a long time so to finally see BMW delivering it for purchase is really neat. The car is designed beautifully and and the i8 really finds a unique balance of sportscar and hybrid that still looks cool to drive in without sacrificing style or luxury.
BMW has definitely been on top of their design and production over the past couple of years, and the i8 should see tons of sales this year. Earning the UK Car of the Year award will boost the car’s visibility and allow people to get a deeper explanation of what makes it so great.
