There are luxury SUV’s, and then there are performance SUV’s. There are also luxury and performance SUV’s on the market, and the 2016 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S would be one of them. Production of the Cayenne line began back in 2002, and like all Porsche’s, the company takes one body and then makes many different models. On top of the Cayenne collection is the Cayenne Turbo S, and the new one is their most powerful and most impressive SUV to date. So what exactly do you get when you purchase a $158,292 SUV?
Many people will explain that the Cayenne Turbo S costs too much, and that your money is better spent elsewhere. However if you want one of the nicest SUV’s around, this is honestly the best option. I mean it should be for that price. So getting on with it, this car is extremely fast. It’s fast for an automobile in general, and it’s absurdly fast for an SUV. In fact, it’s the first car in its class to beat the 8-minute track record around the Nüburgring racetrack in Germany. This is due to the vehicles twin-turbocharged V8 engine that delivers 570hp and 590ft-lbs of torque. The Cayenne Turbo S can go from 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 176mph, which is absolutely incredible for an SUV of this size. When the Cayenne first came out, some people were critical of it “not being a true Porsche” or that it would be “terrible around the track”. Well the Cayenne Turbo S is certainly dismisses all of those remarks.
The Cayenne Turbo S isn’t all about performance either. I mean, that’s the vehicles best selling point, but it is also a very luxurious SUV. The interior is roomy and very premium in every way that a $150,000 vehicle should be. Porsche gives buyers a choice of many different interiors so you can pick out one that you like the best. There’s also many options for premium features like parking assist, carbon fiber panels, lane change assist, adaptive cruise control, and all the other gizmos that you’d expect a company like Porsche to have. If you are looking for an ultra-premium, performance-based SUV and if you’ve got the cash, there really are no better options than the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S. We should expect them to hit dealerships in the States sometime in April.
