
As we are just one month into the new year, auto manufacturers from around the world will be unveiling and releasing many new and exciting cars for 2015 and 2016. Like any year, we see brand new vehicles, updated models, and cool new features that they throw into their vehicles. There will be many auto shows held this year, and companies will do their best to release and unveil their best work. We have formed a list of some of the coolest, most anticipated, and our favorite upcoming cars that are just around the corner.
10. The Mercedes-AMG GT S
We are going to start the list of strong with the new Mercedes-AMG GT S. Built from the ground up from the people at AMG, this new vehicle looks to take on cars like the Porsche 911. The sports car is expected to cost around $150,000 dollars and is powered with a 503 hp 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 engine. This exciting car has a 0-60mph time of 3.7 seconds and should be available sometime in the spring of 2015.
9. The Tesla Model X
The Tesla Model X is the highly anticipated, long-awaited vehicle that will be the follow up to the companies first mass produced car, the Model S. The Model X will offer a larger package for those seeking more space as it is an SUV/crossover type vehicle.The car will function similarly to the Model S, and it will be packed with new features like Tesla’s semi-autonomous driving system. The Model X should be available sometime in late 2015, or early 2016.
8. The New Cadillac CTS-V
The new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is an absolutely beast of a car. Cadillac is looking to restore its former glory and take on the European competition with this vehicle. The car will pack an insane V8 engine that pumps out an absurd 640 horsepower, making it more powerful than even some supercars. It is also the most powerful and fastest car that Cadillac has ever made.
7. The New Mazda Miata
The Miata has always had a cult-like following, and the new version is just around the corner. The 2016 Mazda Miata MX-5 offers performance improvements, an overall lighter car, and some great design changes. This car is all about having fun, and this popular roadster has won so many awards over the years. It is also one of the most tracked cars in the U.S., and for around $25,000 it is hard to beat.
6. The Acura NSX
Acura/Honda has recently unveiled its newest NSX, and the brand is finally brining back their supercar. Acura is the luxury division from Honda, and this new NSX will be a pretty cool vehicle. The NSX will have a turbo-charged V6 engine and three electric motors to power the vehicle. The car should be a pretty great supercar and is expected to cost around $150,000 dollars.
5. The New Ford Mustang Shelby GT350r
Ford recently just unveiled this brute at the Detroit Auto Show, and it is definitely one of the more memorable Mustangs from recent times. Ford exclaims that this will be not only an awesome muscle car, but a proper track car as well. The vehicle boasts a 500bhp V8 engine, carbon fiber pieces, aero-diffusers, a race tuned suspension, and an overall lighter body.
4. The McLaren P1 GTR
McLaren took everything we loved about the P1 and essentially made it better with the P1 GTR. The car boasts a lighter frame, small design changes, and more power. The car will offer around 986bhp and a 0-60mph time of around 2.6 seconds putting it in the hypercar category. Unfortunately you can only take this car on the track as it is not even street legal.
3. The Maserati Levante
The Maserati Levante is the brands upcoming SUV/crossover vehicle. The Levante will be the first SUV made from Maserati and it is going to compete with cars like the Porsche Cayenne and the BMW X6. Maserati announced the Levante all the way back in 2011, and promises that the car will be available sometime in 2015 or 2o16. These spy shots from Motor Authority do confirm that the vehicle is almost here, as Maserati is finishing the final road tests.
2. The Audi R8 E-Tron
Audi’s R8 line of vehicles are their supercars, and the upcoming R8 E-Tron is finally here. The R8 E-Tron is an all electric supercar from the German automobile manufacturer. The company has planned to make this car for some time, and with the upcoming release at the Geneva Motor Show, the car should just be around the corner.
1. The New Ford GT
Ford also surprised many at the Detroit Auto Show as they have confirmed that they are bringing back their GT supercar. The new Ford GT will offer improvements in pretty much all aspects. The car is pretty much entirely made from carbon fiber, it has active aerodynamics, and other performance focused features. It will be powered by a 3.5 liter Ecoboost V6 engine that Ford promises will deliver over 600bhp.
