
Aside from being outfitted with the latest police technology, weapons, and various other crime-fighting devices, police cars need to be fast. Any regular Ford Crown Victoria has bumped-up specs and are typically outfitted with larger engines to catch criminals. The police need fast and powerful vehicles to chase criminals and arrive to the scene of the crime very quickly. Outside of your everyday police vehicles, there are also some higher-end police cars out there. These police cars are heavily modified and sometimes the police even use sport cars as the basis for their cruisers. We are going to take a look at a list of the ten sportiest cop cars that are out there, all of which can catch the fastest bad guys.

10. The Dodge Charger Pursuit
For some reason the police and muscle cars seem like a logical combination, and that’s exactly what this special edition Charger is. Dodge calls it the “Charger Pursuit” and it boats a large 5.7 Hemi V8 engine that offers 375 hp. The Pursuit also has an updated suspension and a reinforced chassis and it is available for U.S. police forces.

9. The Polizei 4 Series
Germany is home to some pretty cool police cars and they need to be fast for the Autobahn. This modified BMW 428i can be seen on the roads every now and then and it catches criminals in comfort and style. The car was created by AC Schnitzer, a car tuning company, and it features an upgraded engine that offers 294hp.

8. The Alfa Romeo 159 Policja
Criminals in Poland better beware as they might find this modified Alfa Romeo 159 on their tails. This cool Italian car is typically a consumer sedan, but the police of Polanica-Zdroj are now using one for their purposes.

7. The Porsche 911
The Porsche 911 is a great car in pretty much every regard, and the police of New South Wales in Australia have turned one into a modified police cruiser. The car can handle turns and corners just as easily as long straightaways and can easily catch criminals. However the police force plan to use it at special events and to get troublesome youths to engage in dialogue with police via the love of all-things Porsche.

6. The Lotus Evora
Lotus makes some pretty cool cars and the have also provided the police force of Great Britain with a modified Evora to catch the bad guys. The car has a 3.5 liter V6 which can easily catch most other types of cars, although their really isn’t any room to put criminals in the back.

5. The McLaren 12C Spider
The Brits have another pretty amazing police car up there sleeves as well. If the Lotus wasn’t fast enough, then this McLaren 12C Spider supercar should do the trick just fine. The cars twin-turbo V8 provides the officer with more than enough power to hunt down enemies on the A1.

4. The Lamborghini Huracan
Since many supercar companies call Italy home, it’s only fitting that the Italian police force also have one on their side. This Lamborghini Huracan has been specially developed by Lamborghini for the police and it features an array of police gadgets and technology. It can also go pretty fast since it has a 5.2 liter V10 engine that delivers 610 horsepower.

3. The Ferrari FF
When you live in a place like Dubai, it’s pretty common to see Bugattis, Lamborghinis, and other supercars on a near daily basis. So if you are part of the Dubai police force, what do you do? Simple, you convert a Ferrari FF into a police cruiser. The car is outfitted with a 6.2 liter V12 that allows the car to keep up with the competition.

2. The Lamborghini Aventador
When the Ferrari FF is in the shop, the police force of Dubai also have a specially modified Lamborghini Aventador that they use as well. There really aren’t any other cities like Dubai, and since there are so many supercars here, you really need a supercar police cruiser to catch them.

1. The Caparo T1
When it Comes to “sporty” police cars, this modified Caparo T1 really takes the cake. You really cannot outrun this vehicle considering it is a full-fledged race car that can go from 0-60 in just 2.5 seconds. The vehicle is “used” (it’s really just for show) by the London police force and is certainly very impressive.
