Officially established in 1834 by Charles Henry Harrod, Harrods is an upscale department store that is located in London. The store is a seven story building that is spread out over a 4.5-acre plot of land and they sell a wide range of consumer goods, typically luxury and expensive items. Harrods has become quite famous over the years, and often times they sell some pretty incredible items that you cannot get anywhere else in the world. In fact, it’s one of the largest department stores in the entire world as they have over 330 unique departments. Every now and then they also sell some extremely rare and incredibly expensive items that go for all kinds of crazy prices, some of which break record books. So which ones were the most expensive? Here are five of the most expensive things ever sold at Harrods.

Odyssey Golf Diamond and Gold 2-Ball Putter

5. The Odyssey Golf Diamond and Gold 2-Ball Putter – $161,000

The company known as Odyssey Golf wanted to design and create a bespoke golf club that would break record books around the world. So they went all-out and came up with this 2-ball putter that was made with high-end materials. The putter had a head made from 18-carat white gold which was then encrusted with 240 rubies and 378 diamonds. It was sold at Harrods back in 2011 for the insane price of $161,000 dollars.

Clive Christian No. 1 Fragrance

4. Clive Christian No. 1 Fragrance “Imperial Majesty” Edition – $215,000

One of the most popular fragrances in the entire world is Clive Christian No. 1. Now a standard 1.6-ounce bottle will sell for anywhere between $580 to $660 dollars depending on where you get it. It’s one of the most expensive perfumes in the entire world, but one edition in particular was sold at Harrods for $215,000 dollars per bottle. It came in a massive decanter made from crystal that had an 18-karat gold top and was adorned with a large diamond. Only 10 bottles were made, and they were only sold at Harrods.

Baldi Crystal Bathtub

3. The Baldi Crystal Bathrub – $790,000

In 2006 a man by the name of Paolo Baldi heard that a ten-ton block of white crystal was discovered in Brazil. So he purchased it and shipped it to Italy where he began working on creating it into a luxurious bathtub. The tub is made entirely from one piece of crystal, and was put up on display at Harrods in 2010 with the asking price of $790,000 dollars.

Porsche Design Advent Calendar

2. The Porsche Design Advent Calendar – $1 Million

Porsche Design comes up with some pretty incredible products, and in 2010 they wanted to create an advent calendar for Harrods during the Christmas season. It was 5.7-feet tall and had 24 windows that contained a variety of different items. Instead of chocolates the advent calendar had cufflinks, gold sunglasses, a limited-edition chronograph watch, a leather jacket, and even a small screen that displayed a 26-foot yacht that could be redeemed from the company.

Stuart Weitzman Ruby Slippers

1. Stuart Weitzman Ruby Slippers – $1.6 Million 

Inspired by the Wizard of Oz one of the most expensive things ever sold at Harrods were the Stuart Weitzman Ruby Slippers. They were originally designed for the 2003 Academy Awards and they featured 642 Burmese rubies set in platinum which weighed in at an incredible 123.33-carats.
