At $2,399 This Gretsch Drum Kit is Their Most Expensive

Drums are a staple in nearly all forms of music; they are the backbone of not only the rhythm section, but the entire song/band itself. Without drums in music, you are left with a pretty empty sounding song. The drums are essentially the “glue” of a band or song, and they hold everything together, in addition to being arguably the most physically demanding instrument in the band. Playing the drums in a metal band is a full body, cardio workout. Those who are looking to learn the drums and want a drum kit for themselves, will quickly learn that it is an expensive instrument. While a guitarist only needs a guitar and an amp to get started, a drummer needs a snare, a bass drum, toms, drum sticks, a drum throne (the seat), cymbals, cymbal stands, and a bass drum pedal at the very least. This adds up quickly. Gretsch is an American instrument manufacturer who is well known for producing some very quality drum kits since the company got started. While they produce other instruments, they are definitely most known for their drums. We are going to take a look at their most expensive kit on the market today.

At $2,399 dollars the Brooklyn Series 4-Piece Shell Pack drum kit is easily their most expensive mass produced drum kit that the company sells (custom kits cost way more money). The drum kit is built in the United States by expert drum makers, and the kit is made from six-ply North American maple and poplar. The drums are crafted in away to provides a lot of attack when hit hard, while still having the ability to retain warm sounding beats when played softly; its perfect for all kinds of music. The kit is modeled off of some of the drums Gretsch produced in the 1950’s in Brooklyn. The kit comes with an 18 x 22″ bass drum, a 7 x 10″ rack tom, a 8 x 12″ rack tom, and a 14 x 16″ floor tom. The drum kit does not come with any hardware or cymbals. Some cymbal packs can cost more than $1,200 dollars, so you can see why a drum kit is a serious investment.
