Etihad Hires Nicole Kidman as Global Ambassador

2014 CMT Music Awards - Arrivals

Nicole Kidman has been a successful actress, but lately has vanished from the major motion picture scene to film smaller movies and pursue other careers as well. She is happily married to Keith Urban and the two are always traveling or popping up somewhere to promote important topics. Most recently, Kidman was announced as the new global representative of Etihad Airways; the rising luxury flight service that is based out of Abu Dhabi.

Kidman will be the company’s only brand ambassador around the entire world as they prepare to launch their new multi platform advertising campaign. She will be used for television, internet and print marketing for the Etihad “Flying Reimagined” campaign shot on one of their flagship Airbus A380 models.

Etihad is really attempting to take luxury flying to a whole new level and give people an option nicer than first class. The Airbus 380 model features a three room apartment called “The Residence” that guests can book for their long flights if they are seeking out more privacy or a bigger, more comfortable space. The flying suite has a full shower, spacious double bed, and even a personal butler that is ready to serve whenever throughout the flight.

The company is the first to incorporate this type of a flying option in the commercial industry and it should easily attract people to the brand despite not being familiar with it. The advertisements were shot in Abu Dhabi, Marseille and Prague. They all display Kidman looking extremely relaxed on a flight having champagne while relaxing in a living room environment and eventually falling onto the bed. It will be interesting to see if Etihad can really break into the market and give the world a new type of flying, because the service they are offering looks fantastic.
