Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm Expected To Draw Big Bucks on Jan 2nd

Quickly after her lopsided defeat over Bethe Correia, Ronda Rousey has announced that she’ll be back in the ring against her next challenger, Holly Holm.  The fight which will be UFC 195 will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Rousey discussed the decision on Good Morning America and also tweeted out an early look at the poster for what promises to be a highly anticipated fight: “January 2 I’ll be fighting Holly Holm, who’s the most decorated striker we have in all of mixed martial arts. Not the women’s division, not the bantamweight division. [Holm]’s a 19-time boxing champion. Holly Holm was The Ring magazine pound-for-pound Fighter of the Year, and definitely my biggest challenge to date.”

While Rousey might just be pumping up the fight, most people don’t think that Holm has a chance.  Rousey is a perfect 12-0 in her career with only one fight lasting beyond the first round. She is the most dominant force in mixed martial arts.  Holm too is undefeated (9-0) but not nearly as decorated a fighter as Rousey.  She’s 2-0 in the UFC and people are skeptical that she’ll give the champ much of a challenge.

Though Rousey does think that because of Holm’s boxing skills, that the fight will be a challenge.   One thing’s for certain.  The fight is expected to draw million of eyeballs and dollars.  While financial details haven’t been released of what the fighters will make, this will surely add to the net worth of Ronda Rousey.
