Skeleton watches are always some of the coolest timepieces because you can see the watches complex movements in great detail. Still you can never really see all of the watches inner workings, unless you pick up the newest watch from H. Moser & Cie. Known for their complex movements and luxury watches, this new watch from the brand is a real show stopper as the case is made entirely from sapphire crystal.
We’ve seen many amazing watches from H. Moser & Cie. before, but this timepiece is in a class of its own. They are calling it the Venturer Tourbillon Dual Time Skeleton and it is quite the looker. It takes a lot of work to shape sapphire crystal like that, but it seems to be worth it. When you combine that all-sapphire crystal case with a band that was 3D printed, this watch is really the first of its kind.
Inside this amazing timepiece we find the HMC 803 calibre that has been skeletonised. Skeleton watches are some of the most challenging to produce, so this watch really is quite an achievement. This watch was made to house a skeleton movement. The movement is actually made from nickel silver, taking influence from watches made in the past. This alloy is more delicate and harder to work with which makes you appreciate the craftsmanship that has gone into creating this masterpiece. Additionally it oxidizes over time to a very pleasing color.
No word yet on how much this watch will cost, but considering what it is made from, you can expect it to be a great deal of money. This is watchmaking at its finest, and I could imagine this watch cost a hundred thousands dollars easily. If you’re looking for an extremely unique timepiece, this watch probably fits the bill.
