Kitchen Technologies 2015

Technology just isn’t improving how you use your television or the easiest way to browse reddit on the go, it is also changing how we interact with our kitchens and our food. Over the recent years we have seen a rise in kitchen technology ranging from cool gadgets to mobile apps to help you count calories. Today there are many great kitchen appliances, apps, and technologies that improve our time within the kitchen. Whether you are a home chef, or a professional chef working at a restaurant, these technologies are extremely beneficial. Here are five amazing kitchen technologies to look out for.

5. The Drop Connected Kitchen Scale

The first thing we are going to look at is the Drop Connected Kitchen Scale. Essentially it is a bluetooth enabled scale that you pair with a mobile phone or tablet application. From the app you select or load in your favorite recipes, and it then helps you measure out exactly what you need.

4. The WeMo Smart Crock-Pot

Crock-Pot’s are some of the easiest appliances to use to make delicious meals. Now there is a smart version from WeMo. For $130 dollars this crock-pot can do everything your old slow cooker did, and then some. The device can connect to a application where the user can then control various elements of the device on the go.

3. The Prep Pad from Orange Chef

The Prep Pad is a very cool little device (pictured above). Similar to The Drop, the Prep Pad is a bluetooth scale and cutting board that pairs with a mobile device. From the app, users can then correctly calculate and see all of the nutritional facts from whatever is on the scale. It’s a perfect device for those on a diet.

2. The Siemens Connected Coffee Maker

Siemens has a pretty wide range of cool kitchen appliances that make use of technology, and their Connected Coffee Maker is a great example of one. Essentially the device is a smart coffee machine that you can control with your cellphone or tablet. When you wake up in the morning you can use the app to make a few different drinks and by the time you are in your kitchen a hot cup of coffee will be ready for you.

1. The LG Smart Oven

Similar to the other devices we looked at, the LG Smart Oven is essentially a full oven that you can control via a mobile application. The app allows you to monitor whats cooking in the oven or it allows you to remotely change the temperature, for example.
