Within the past two years we have seen more and more companies introduce some form of wearable technology, whether it’d be a virtual reality headset or a smartwatch. The vast majority of brands and companies getting involved in this growing industry are technology companies like Google, Samsung, LG, and Apple. However now we are seeing high-end jewelry brands get into the mix as Christophe & Co. have unveiled a very interesting smartbracelet for men.
Christophe & Co. is a new British company that aims to deliver superior high-jewelry. One of their new products is the Armill Bracelet and it is probably the most luxurious piece of wearable technology that we’ve ever seen. While many people are still deciding if they want another technological device that they wear, Christophe & Co. are going all-in with this bracelet.
First off the bracelet is designed by Pininfarina, you know the guys that often design many Ferrari’s. They have also chosen to put super high-quality materials into the device. The frame of the Armill bracelet is made from carbon fiber. On it we find 18 karat gold parts, diamonds, other rare stones, high-quality ceramic, Alcantara leather, and more. The device also has built in Bluetooth, NFC, a kinetic recharging system, and a few other sensors. The company also promises that the device will constantly offer users access to a 24/7 concierge service that will help you get into clubs and other cool events. Since it’s not a watch, Christophe & Co. hopes that you wear the bracelet with your luxury timepiece, rather than replacing it with a smartwatch.
Details on the device are still a bit hazy. While we have a general sense of the product, no one has seen it used in public. Also Christophe & Co.’s website is pretty tricky: its entirely private and you need a “private key” to gain access. I’ve applied for a key but am still waiting to hear back from them. So hopefully we can eventually see more details about this device, as it will probably be one of the most expensive pieces of wearable technology yet.
