Parisian Menswear Brands Making a Big Splash in 2015

New Fashion Menswear Brands from France

When one thinks of fashion as an industry, invariably one thinks of all the design houses that have come from Paris and France. Channel, Saint Laurent, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Gautiler and Christian La Croix are just a few of a long list of designers that come from Paris. So how does one get noticed in such a crowded field, especially if you are French?  Here are a few newer designers to have made their mark at the most recent Paris Fashion Week.

Officine Generale

Classic tailoring with a slim fit design, this designer may only be three years old but in that time they have been in over 90 retailers around the world and in 20 retailers in the US, most notably in Barney’s.  Expect slim fitting, casual coordinates with a bit of a military feel.

The Kooples

The Kooples

The three words used to describe this line are “buttoned up Rockabilly”. The 7-year-old brand entered the U.S. market in 2012 with spots in stores like Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales and opened a Meatpacking District flagship store in NYC this past September.

Sandro

Sandro

The designs from Sandro have been called slightly edgy minimalism. The fit of the line is all about the slim silhouette with just a touch of edginess to make the designs feel fresh and new. The design house has been around since 1984 but only got into the men’s line in 2008 and showcased their line for the first time at the Paris Fashion Week.

AMI

AMI

Classified as “modern prep”, this line stays on trend but incorporates a wearability factor that makes it easy to take off the runway. A lot of the clothing displayed in fashion shows are often too “bold” for the average consumer, and AMI knows this. The clothes strive to be “effortlessly cool” which is brilliant. Their clothing is stylish and easy to wear; perfect for many occasions.
