Longines is a luxury watch company from, where else but Switzerland. Lead by Auguste Agassiz, the company formed up in the town of Saint-Imier in 1832. The company is historically known to provide the first Olympics with timers back in 1896, and has a rich legacy of producing fine timepieces. Today the company is relatively small, yet still produces a nice range of watches that start at $800 dollars. At the opposite end of the spectrum, one of their more premium watches would be this watch from the “Master Collection”.
Only going by the drab model name, “L26738783”, this watch is a classic example of the finer watches that Longines produces. Simple, yet elegant this watch is a perfect friend for any occasion. The watch displays the hours, minutes, the date, the moon phase with a 12 hours counter, a 30 minute counter, a 24 hour indicator, and has a central 60 second chronograph hand. Made from 18 karat rose gold with sapphire crystal, the watch has a transparent back to display the L678 self-winding mechanical movements that beat at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The blue dial hands and the alligator leather strap bring the watch together and really complete the look.
This particular watch is not the most expensive watch offered from Longines, nor does it feature the most premium materials as they have watches made entirely from gold. Despite all of that this is still one of my favorites from the company. The watch is extremely elegant and is just great to look at. Bright, yellow-gold watches are more difficult to work into a wardrobe outside of formal events, yet this particular watch will fit in easier. It’s sophisticated, it looks good, and it displays a variety of different information making it a solid watch through and through. You can pick up this watch either online or a participating retailer and it will run you $10,250 dollars.
