New Orleans has always been a hot spot traveling destination for anyone. The iconic Bourbon street is a place for people young and old to go relax and have a good time in the amazing bar scene. With the open alcohol carrying policy, it opens up the possibilities for people to truly go out and have a good time with no worries about drinking in public. As it turns out, New Orleans has been aware of the high volume of tourists that flow in during big yearly events, and it is the most expensive place to be in the entire United States during New Year’s Eve.
Bringing in 2015 is sure to be a party everywhere in the United States, but all of the big markets will have tons going on, especially New Orleans. The current rate for a hotel room on New Year’s Eve in New Orleans is $359 to get the most affordable double room, which comes in a 300% higher than the normal prices during non-holidays. The second and third spots go to Atlantic City and New York City, which come in with minimum hotel prices of $350 and $345. While New York City is no surprise, it’s interesting to see all of these large tourism spots capitalize on the additional influx of people during major holidays.
The biggest surprise from the information gathered by TravelMag.com is that the 10th cheapest major location on New Year’s Eve is Los Angeles, which has a minimum hotel price of $209 per night and is over $100 cheaper than the top three destinations. Everyone’s going to be having a great time out on New Year’s Eve no matter who they are with or what they are doing, but these metrics collected will help people plan to make the most out of their budget and possibly save some money while still having a great vacation.
