Pagani is an Italian supercar manufacturer that makes some of the most technical and advanced supercars in the world. Their flagship vehicle was the Zonda. I used the past tense as the company no longer produces these vehicles and has moved on to make the Huayra their flagship vehicle. The original Zonda was first introduced in 1999 and was produced all the up until 2013. In that long history of vehicles there were many improved versions of the car. While produced in extremely limited numbers (some models they only released 5 of), if you were lucky to get one these vehicles were pretty exceptional. One of the more standout models was the Pagani Zonda F.
The Zonda F was first introduced at the Geneva Motor Show back in 2005. Pagani was still a younger company and only producing one line of vehicles. While they were a respected supercar company it was around the time of the Zonda F that people began to recognize the company as a top-tier supercar manufacturer. This particular Zonda was a vehicle that was to pay homage to the late F1 driver Juan Manuel Fangio. Fangio was an award winning, world-class driver who also collaborated with the initial plans for the Zonda before he died. So due to that fact, the wanted to make this Zonda extra special.
The Zonda F was built with a body that is made entirely from carbon fiber. Pagani started out producing high-quality carbon fiber, so the carbon used here is some of the best. This was the first Pagani ever to have a body made entirely from carbon fiber, making the vehicle incredibly light. The vehicle is powered by a Mercedes-Benz M180 DOHC V12 engine that has around 650 horsepower and 780 pounds-feet of torque. The Zonda F could go from 0-6 in just under 3.5 seconds and it had a top speed of 215 miles per hour, making it one of the fastest supercars at the time. The vehicle also had a modified body work that improved aerodynamics of the vehicle. They also added in another headlight on either side of the vehicle, which is seen in all Zonda’s released after the F. Pagani only made 25 of these cars, however those cars would set a new standard for excellence that a supercar could achieve.
