Ermenegildo Zegna is a luxury Italian fashion company that concerns itself entirely with mens clothing, most notably their suits. The company was named after and founded by Ermenegildo Zegna in Trivero, Italy in 1910 however today they are headquartered and based out of Milan. The company is owned and operated by the Zegna family, as it has always been since its inception. The have more than 560 high-end boutiques located world wide and see around a billion dollars in revenue each year. The sell ready-to-wear mens suits, clothing, fabric, fashion accessories, and various leather goods. Additionally they also make custom made suits, shirts, and overcoats. They also make suits for the companies Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, and Tom Ford. We are going to take a look at their most expensive ready-to-wear mens suit.
A nice, properly fitting suit, is something I believe that all men should own. It is just such a staple and can be worn for a variety of different reasons and occasions. A improperly fitted suit is horrendous. While purchasing a custom fit suit is really expensive, Zegna can help you out with their ready-to-wear suits. While they still are expensive you get an Italian, designer brand suit. Their cheapest ready-to-wear suit for their 2014 fall/winter collection costs $2,795 dollars while their most expensive is their “Double-Breasted Suit in Signature Trofeo 600 Wool” which costs $3,395 dollars.
This double-breasted suit is made from high-quality 200gm Trofeo 600 fabric that is 85% wool and 15% silk. Zegna is especially known for its high-quality wools and wool fabrics. There is also a nice red over-check found within the fabric of the suit. Being a double-breasted suit there are two rows of buttons, with three buttons on either side of the jacket. The jacket has sewed pleated trousers and a “20cm drop designed for sharp professional dressing”. The color of the suit itself is steel gray, and again that red over-check really stands out, yet its not “in your face”. The suit is available for order off of their website, or in one of their boutiques.
