Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is a Hong Kong based company that operates worldwide and is constantly establishing new hotels and resorts in desirable locations. They have an unbelievable amount of buildings throughout Asia, but in Mainland China there are only Shangri-La hotels; no resorts. However, that is about to change because the company has announced that their first resort in Mainland China is ready to open for business.

The new, Shangri-La Resort and Spa, Hainan, presents customers with one of the top vacation experiences in the area and delivers a much needed resort to the Mainland China area. The resort and spa has 300 yards of beachfront property that sits right on the well known Haitang Bay. There are 340 total rooms available across 45 acres that offer beautiful views of the Mainland China mountains and countryside.

The location is considered to be “the Hawaii of China” and is a sought out vacation spot by both individuals and families. There is something for everyone at the Shangri-La resort and spa, with their two different areas “Oasis” and “Sands”. One is a large water park while the other is an adventure zone, and they both offer some amazing and fun things to do. Between the two zones, there are two free-form pools, trails for running or biking, a football field on the beach, volleyball courts, plenty of water games and activities, while also offering a full fledged gym with and outdoor balcony used for Tai Chi and Yoga.

The new hotel and spa has everything one could desire while being on vacation, and the company makes sure to give customers the best quality they can. Each hotel room offers subtle but stunning details to the furniture and overall room design. There are also two restaurants present at the resort; Kon Tiki, which is a south pacific theme cuisine that has live fire dancing and grass skirt dancing routines while Chuyi Wutai allows guests to taste fresh seafood and other traditional Southeast Asian foods.

The Shangri-La spa and resort in Mainland China delivers a great place for anyone to go vacation at. There are plenty of activities to keep both, kids and adults, occupied all the time. While the majority of the hotel is open and operating, the spa and eight two-story villas won’t become available until later this year.
