Mercedes -AMG, the higher end sport division of Mercedes Benz is set to unveil it’s newest vehicle: The Mercedes AMG GT. This supercar has been in the works for a long time, but will now finally be unveiled on September 9th. Mercedes wanted to design a vehicle that was more compact and more “subtle” than their SLS supercar. The SLS was a “in-your-face” type of supercar with its gull-wing doors and ridiculous acceleration, while the AMG GT will be more of a refined approach to a supercar. Mercedes promises that even though this car is smaller than the SLS, it is still as exciting.
Mercedes-AMG specifically created this vehicle to combat the Porsche 911, and it seems to be a worthy contender. The AMG GT is packed with a brand new 4-litre bi-turbo 503bhp V8 engine. This engine took Mercedes a long time to develop and they hope it will propel the GT at insane speeds. Mercedes has claimed that it has taken them over 32 months to test drive and engineer the vehicle. Porsche sells a wide range of sport and supercars that provide drivers with a top-of-the-line driving experience while maintaing high levels of comfort, and Mercedes is looking to upset that with this vehicle. The Mercedes AMG GT will certainly be an exciting car to see released and it surely seems that it will provide drivers with exceptional performance, wrapped up into a luxurious package that only Mercedes can provide.
