The Most Expensive SUV Ever Built: The Lamborghini Urus

Auto China 2012

Remember when the soccer mom used to drive the kids to practice in the ugliest minivan you could possible conjure up in your mind? Those days are long gone. Scheduled to launch in 2017, the Lamborghini Urus is another chapter in luxury SUVs that’ll flat out blow your mind. The Italian supercar confirmed the new vehicle in early 2014, but it don’t expect it to come cheaply. With Porsche and Bentley also launching luxury SUVs, the Lamborghini still tops the market in cost. Expected to run somewhere between $150,000 and $200,000 – the Urus will be the most expensive SUV on the market.

The Lamborghini Urus’ beauty first debuted at the Beijing Auto Show in 2012. As the luxury SUV market started to grow dramatically, Lambo decided to push it into production almost 3 years later. Just in case you are a soccer mom interested in the Urus – don’t worry about being late to practice. The vehicle boasts 584-horsepower and a turbocharged 5.2 Liter V10 engine. That means this beast can hit 205 mph with relative ease.

What do you think of the Lamborghini Urus design? It’s hard to even call it an SUV because it looks like a very dramatic sports car. Believe it or not this is Lamborghini’s re-entry into the Sports-Utility market. Their last SUV was launched in the early 1990’s. I think the design could use a little work, but it still looks pretty sweet.
