It seems as thought the new frontier in technology is the “smart home”, a home that has modern devices that perform a variety of different functions. The Ecoisme is an intelligent energy monitoring system that you hook up to your homes main power line. The company is from Poland and they have recently just put up the Ecoisme on IndieGoGo as they are seeking funding for their project.
The Ecoisme sets out to bring any home into the 21st century. As many homeowners become increasingly more concerned with conserving energy and money, the Ecoisme can help homeowners do exactly that. Once you hook the device up to your homes power grid, you can then monitor your energy consumption through computers, smartphones, or tablets. The system tracks how much energy you use, shows you ways that you can save energy, and it even gives you notifications about your various electrical devices. For example, say you’re ironing some clothing and forget to turn your iron off. Ecoisme will then push a notification to your phone telling you that you forget to turn it off. It can even track how much energy specific electrical devices use, and which ones consume the most amount of energy. It will even remind you to close your refrigerator door.
So as soon as you hook up the Ecoisme system to your home, you can then begin to figure out which devices use the most amount of energy, thus helping you curb your energy bills. If you combine the Ecoisme with the Nest and Tesla’s Powerwall for example, you’re home is just a few steps away from being an actual computer. The team at Ecoisme are seeking $50,000 dollars to fund the project, and their IndieGoGo campaign went live just two days ago. If you pledge right now, you can pick up the device for just $99 dollars for the early bird special. After that, the device will cost $149, which is still very modest considering what the Ecoisme can do. In the long run, it seems like a worthwhile investment as it will shave hundreds if not thousands of dollars off your energy bill. You save money and your energy provider will save power, which in turn will help the environment. All-in-all, the Ecoisme seems like a solid device that helps turn your home into a smart home.
