Five Up and Coming Gadgets to Look For in 2015

Upcoming Gadgets

2014 was a great year for technology and we saw many cool devices and gadgets come out. As the year draws to an end, tech companies are already working on the next big and improved thing. The technology industry moves at an incredible rate, and it seems to just get faster. Every year we see new computers, new phones, new tablets, and a variety of other devices. Well as 2015 is just around the corner, here are five awesome gadgets to look out for.

5. The Apple Watch

Smartwatches are the hottest thing right now, and most companies got into the game a few years ago. Well this time Apple is playing catch-up and they are on track to release their first smart watch dubbed the “Apple Watch”. People are very excited to see what Apple has to bring to the table and the device will most likely come out in Spring of 2015. The base model will start at $349 dollars. The watch will be available in two sizes and a variety of styles and a few are even going to be made from 18-karat gold.

4. The OnePlus Two

OnePlus is a pretty new smartphone company based out of China who has been making a name for itself. The company formed in 2013 with Pete Lau at is head and are based out of Shenzen. OnePlus wanted to provide consumers with a flag-ship spec’d device at half the price, and thus the OnePlue One cell phone was born. The OnePlus One is a premium smartphone that offers a pretty great package. The device costs $299 off-contract yet it is comparable in performance and capabilities to phones like the Note 4, the iPhone 6, and other premium smartphones that cost over $700 dollars off-contract. Their new phone should bring welcomed improvements and is definitely something to watch out for.

3. Intel’s Broadwell Processors

While technically the next thing on our list isn’t a gadget per se, Intel’s new Broadwell Processors are definitely something to look for. At this point if I were in the market for a new computer I would wait for devices that have these processors. These new processors will allow not only for computers to perform faster, it will also allow them to conserve more energy allowing for longer battery life. Additionally these processors will be really tiny and will allow companies to produce smaller and thinner devices.

2. The Microsoft Surface Pro 4

Another device to watch out for is the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is arguably the best all-in-one device currently on the market as it is both a tablet and a fully functioning desktop computer. The newer version will most likely iron out a few issues the Surface Pro 3 faced, and will most likely be the tablet that will replace your computer. If they pack the Broadwell processors, then it will be an incredible device.

1. The New Oculus Rift

The Oculus Rift is an upcoming virtual-realty headset that will revolutionize video games. Essentially users wear the device and be completely immersed in a video game or any other software for the device. The company has made a few prototype and developer options, and is set to release a production model in 2015.
