The 10 Biggest and Best Robotics Companies

Top Robotics Companies

Modern robotics companies deliver a wide-range of products to both the private sector and public sector. Many of the worlds leading robotics companies produce everything from military drones to robotic limbs to be used for medical patients. Robotics and technology go hand-in-hand, and we have seen some amazing progress into what robots can do for us as humans. We are also seeing more and more robots being used as household items such as robot vacuums, for example. There are many robotics companies out there, but only a few are industry leaders that deliver superior products that change lives. We are going to take a look at the top ten biggest and best robotics companies out there.

10. Prox Dynamics

Prox Dynamics is a Norwegian company that produces a range of robots for the military and police forces of the world. The most impressive product would be the Black Hornet Nano. The Black Hornet Nano is a super small (can fit in the palm of your hand) unmanned helicopter drone that is primarily used to survey areas, asses situations, and spy on targets discreetly. Because they are so small, they are extremely hard to detect and are easily deployed.

9. QBotix

QBotix is a relatively small robotics company based out of California that makes a unique solar monorail system. Basically most solar panels have some sort of small engine to turn the panels to face the sun as it changes throughout the day. Qbotix produces a small robot that travels around on a monorail system around the solar panels and turns them itself. This small system allows solar companies to save a lot of money while also making them more efficient.

8. Liquid Robotics

Liquid Robotics is an American company that specializes in robotic watercraft. The majority of devices they produce are self-sufficient robotic vehicles that are deployed in oceans to be used for many purposes. Essentially they have the appearance of a large surf board, only with solar panels on them. These machines monitor ocean temperatures, map the ocean floors, and some models can even track drug-smugglers, for example.

7. Bosch

Bosch is a German engineering and robotics company that produces a wide range of household appliances. Aside from brining you kitchen into the 21st century, Bosch has also developed one of the most advanced robot-lawnmowers ever. Many people don’t enjoying mowing their lawn, especially those with large properties, and this device can help those people. Bosch is also working on some self-driving cars that we should expect to see in the future.

6. Accuray

Accuray is one of the leading companies involved with medical robotics and the healthcare industry. They produce a few different products, but their CyberKnife System is their most impressive. Essentially it is an advanced robot that can perform surgery, mostly on cancer patients, to remove tumors in ways humans cannot.

5. Rethink Robotics

Rethink Robotics is essentially the company who is replacing human laborers on assembly lines with robots.  Their programable robots can be ordered to perform a variety of different tasks from building cars to producing processed foods. The robots have two arms and a screen for a face and are being applied to factories and assembly lines everywhere.

4. Northrop Grumman

Northrop Grumman is a massive American corporation that produces aerospace and technology, primarily for the military. In addition to advanced radar systems and other military gadgets, the company produces a long list of military drones that are used for spying or attacking targets.

3. Google

Goole makes our list as they are really involved in so much today, not just cell phones and an internet search engine. They have acquired Boston Dynamics and a few other robotics companies and plan to bring a series of robots to the world. So far their most successful program would be their self-driving robot cars, who have had pretty much entirely successful test runs.

2. Touch Bionics

Touch Bionics is one of the industry leaders in producing advanced robotic limbs for people who have lost their physical ones. The company improves their products every year, and have already produced many bionic arms, legs, and hands for people to use.

1. iRobot

iRobot is one of the largest robotic companies in the world and they produce many different products. There are probably best known for their Roomba’s, those robotic vacuum cleaners for your home. They also product a few other robots. For the business world they have created “video collaboration robot” which is essentially a robot with a screen for a face, allowing someone to attend a business meeting via a video call, for example. They also produce robots for the military like machines that will deactivate bombs.
