Those who choose to go into the finance industry hope to make it big someday, but most of them figure that it would take a great deal of time and work before they make it big as a trader or as a hedge fund manager. However there is a select few who have already made it big before they have reached the age of 30. These people on our list have accomplished so much in such a short amount of time, making them truly impressive people. We are going to take a moment and look at some of the wealthiest people in finance who are under the age of 30 (in no particular order)

5. Sam Barnett

At only 24 years of age, Sam Barnett is the youngest person on our list. Sam attended the California Institute of Technology where he studied applied mathematics. At school he was the No. 1 varsity tennis player and is currently working on getting his PhD from Northwestern University. He is also the CEO of SSB Research Group, a hedge fund which he created that manages around $115 million dollars. Not too bad for only being 24.

4. Chris Yetter

Chris Yetter is a 29 year old who has made a name for himself in the finance world. As a Harvard graduate, Chris worked as a stock trader at QVT Financial LP for about 4 years before he came to be the head and a partner of Latin American Investments at Falcon Edge Capitol. This hedge fund controls and manages about $2 billion dollars.

3. Carryn McLaughlin

Carryn McLaughlin is the next person on our list of super wealthy, young people. At only 23 years of age she earned her Certified Financial Planner. This Penn State grad then went on to become a vice president at a private JPMorgan Chase bank. There she manages and overlooks around $2.7 billion dollars of funds and assets for various people involved in the real estate business.

2. Eugene Gokhvat

The next person on our list is Eugene Gokhvat. At 28 years old, this Princeton graduate went into finance as a portfolio manager and worked for the Deutsche Bank. From there Gokhvat went on to create his own hedge fund in New York as a portfolio manager where he works as a corporate bond portfolio manager that oversees about $35 billion dollars.

1. Luis Alvarado

Luis Alvarado attended the Universidad de Costa Rica where he received his B.A. in business administration and went on to get his master of science in financial analysis from the University of San Francisco. At 29 years old he is the youngest person of the Wells Fargo Private Bank investment team, where he works as a investment research analyst to help oversee around $170 billion in cash and assets.
