Carlos Irwin Estevez was born on September 3, 1965 in New York, New York. He is the youngest son of actor Martin Sheen and artist Janet Templeton. His older brother is actor Emilio Estevez. At Santa Monica High School, Sheen showed interest in acting with his brother, Rob Lowe, and Sean Penn. A few weeks before graduating, he failed out of school because of grades and decided to change his stage name to Charlie Sheen and pursue acting full-time.
