W Hotel Offers Social Media Concierge to Brides and Grooms

W

The W Hotel offers couples saying their vows at any of their New York locations a special treat; a social media concierge. For one night only, you can forget about updating your own status or pulling out your phone to take a few selfies of you with your girls before the ceremony begins; your social media concierge will do it for you. From live tweeting your speeches to updating your Facebook profile to married the second you are pronounced husband and wife, your own personal social media concierge has you taken care of. The fee for this service; only $3000.

In addition to everything else your social media concierge will do for you, he or she is also capable of creating a unique hashtag for your event as well as encouraging your guests to crowdsource their own content. Since the press release was announced, the reaction from the rest of the world has been across the board. Some have called the W Hotel’s social media concierge laughable and narcissistic on a whole new level and others find the idea compelling – undoubtedly making the decision to marry in a New York W Hotel for them.

Whether or not you care if your marital status is updated the second you’re officially off the market or at some point later on in life, you still get some pretty beneficial features with this package. One includes a complete Shutterfly album of photos taken at your wedding as well as a collage of the best tweets, updates, and hashtags from your big day. The other nice perk is that your social media concierge will create a wedding blog for you, which can help update your guests and family members on the happenings of your wedding leading up to the big day. Since the bride and groom are typically busy doing other things leading up to the wedding, this might be a nice option for many.
