Two Houses Tie as Most Expensive on the Market

The most expensive homes in the country are often occupied by the rich and famous. However, even the rich and famous don’t want to live in the same house forever. Even the rich and famous list their gorgeous homes for sale from time to time. Perhaps the pool of potential buyers is a bit smaller when you look to sell an expensive home, but that doesn’t stop homeowners for listing their extravagant homes for extravagant prices. The most expensive house on the market in America right now is impressive.

Fleur de Lys Mansion, L.A.

Located in one of the many affluent Los Angeles neighborhoods, this 35,000 square foot home is one of the largest and most expensive houses on the market. The asking price is a staggering $125 million. The owner of the home is Suzanne Saperstein and the listing agent is Michael Waddington.

The design of the home is inspired by a French chateaux and it features 12 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms and a ballroom large enough to comfortably allow for 200 guests. The staff quarters fit 10 live-in staff. The house features two large kitchens, a 9-car garage and a 50-seat home theater. There is a ¾ mile jogging track in the yard for buyers who want to keep in shape outside without having to deal with the paparazzi or the curious eyes of tourists.

Casa Casuarina, Miami

Also listed for $125 million, it ties for the most expensive home currently on the market in the US. This 23,400 square foot Miami home is listed with The Jills of Coldwell Banker. At the moment, the former home of Gianni Versace is a boutique hotel on Miami’s famous Ocean Drive. However, that can be easily changed. With 10 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and a swimming pool that’s 54 feet long and lined with solid gold, the house is quite impressive. It also features an observatory, for those who are interested.
